November 28, 2024
Battle for Madrigal Expansion
Flyff Universe Version 1.4.1
Lifestyle
Introducing a new system: Lifestyle. This content will have you gathering and crafting new items which will aid you along your journey.
[Life Master] Livi
Gathering
The first aspect of this system is gathering. You can purchase new tools designed for each type of gathering, including herb gathering, woodcutting, mining, and fishing from the new Lifestyle NPC Livi with Penya. Please note that these tools will have finite durability, with rarer harvesting objects having more durability consumptions. This durability will be consumed regardless of success or not.
In order to use these tools, you will need to learn the skills through Livi’s quests. Completing a quest unlocks the respective gathering skill.
New tools that can be purchased from Livi
Herb gathering, mining, and woodcutting can all be performed all over Madrigal, with herbs, ores, and trees spawning randomly. Each region has a different distribution of the type of material that spawns, similar to the pet berry plants.

Note that the rarities defined in the table above are all relative to how much overall spawns there are in that region. As a rule of thumb, the larger the region, the more spawns there are.
There are different rarities of herbs, trees, and ores which can be gathered around the world, requiring you to equip the right kind of tool: A hoe, an axe, or a pickaxe, respectively. These rarities are separated into 5 grades: Ordinary, Regular, Unique, Rare, and Legendary for each type respectively and the spawns are rarer the higher the grades are. The rarer the grade is, the higher the chance you will have yielding a higher grade material from it, and some material will be available from higher grade harvesting objects only.
By gathering these materials successfully you will receive mastery experience towards the type of gathering you are doing. As your mastery points increase, so will your success and great success rates. You will gain more mastery points for harvesting rarer grades as well.
The main Life menu you can view to track your skill progress
Fishing is slightly different to the other types of gathering. Once you have learned the fishing skill by completing the quest from Livi, you can head to a body of water to start. You can automatically fish, or decide to play the fishing minigame, which can increase the success rate of your fishing.
Minigame to increase your fishing success rate
If you were automatically fishing, you can view the results of your fishing session once you return and examine your yield.
Please note that when you are automatically fishing, only the base success rate will be applied.
Become a fishing master!
Production
Another aspect of this system will be Production. You can use the materials you have gathered to create new items that will be useful during gameplay. There are 4 types of production you can engage in: Cooking, alchemy, carpentry, and smithing. In order to perform these actions, you need to learn the respective skill through quests given by Livi. Stations for each type of production are located around Madrigal, in towns as well as in front of Livi.

You can create ingredients which can be used in other productions, or useful items which can be used directly such as food, buff items, furniture, or even special accessories. Similar to gathering, you will gain mastery for each production skill, even if you fail to produce an item.
Recipes are unlocked by trying out random combinations of ingredients. Once you try out a combination of items, there is a chance that a recipe will be partially revealed to you. If you happen to input an exact recipe, it will always be shown to you. Note that some recipes will require special titles and mastery in order to be unlocked or created.
Example of a production attempt
After you obtain a recipe, you can attempt to create multiple of the same item at once if you put enough ingredients into it. Please note that in order to create the items you want, you will need to select the recipe of your choice from the dropdown menu and then put in the ingredients. If you put in the right ingredients without selecting the recipe from the menu, it’ll be considered a “random production” attempt so it might fail to yield you the result even if you have succeeded in the production itself so beware. Also, some items might have a limit on how many items you can possess at once in your inventory and bank. The excess items in these cases will be sent to you mail and you can retrieve them later.
Example of a recipe selected
You will be able to view the items you attempt to create, and production can be sped up using a Cash Shop scroll. There are 5 minute, 10 minute, 30 minute, and 1 hour variants of this scroll which can be used in the production speed up menu. However, note that if you use an amount more than required, you will not receive the extra time back in return. For example, if you use a 1 hour scroll on a production which has 5 minutes remaining, you will use the entirety of the 1 hour scroll regardless. You can also increase your success rate by using the Cash Shop item “Scroll of Success” and decrease the overall production time by 20% by the Cash Shop item “Scroll of Production Boost”.

Expert & Mastery Ranking
For a special effect while gathering or producing, you are able to select one type of gathering and production as your skill of expertise. This selection can be changed once every 7 days by default. You can see the effect of each of the Mastery below:

Furthermore, there is a weekly ranking of mastery points for all the competitive players out there. The ranks will be based on the cumulative mastery amount you have obtained and will reset every Monday at midnight (00:00) server time. Ranking within the top 5 in a week will reward you with a special title as well as Master’s Chip rewards. These titles will be time-limited to be used only within that week. On top of this, if you have more than 100,000 Mastery obtained and you don’t obtain at least 100 Mastery for that week, 10% of your mastery will decay at the weekly ranking reset in order to prevent people staying at the top ranking without doing anything. This penalty will increase even more as you get more mastery, requiring you to have 1,000 mastery obtained per week for 1 million mastery and 5,000 mastery obtained for 10 million.
Some high-end production recipes will require these special titles, so best of luck!
Master’s Chip
Master’s Chips are awarded to you when you successfully produce an item during random productions. These chips can be exchanged for various ingredients at Livi.
Example of Master’s Chip shop window
Wandering Merchant
The Wandering Merchant is a merchant which can be found in the towns, with a shop inventory specific to you, which updates every 3 hours. They will sell items usually needed for production for penya, and the items this merchant sells are limited in quantity, however, you may use a cash shop item called “Wandering Merchant Refresh Ticket” to refresh the shop’s inventory, including both the items for sale and their stock.
Example of a Wandering Merchant shop window
Level expansion & New Dungeon
The maximum level is increasing to 165. As this increase creates a void in grinding availability around Madrigal, this change also brings a new open world dungeon to Coral Island, similar to Flaris’ Mars Mine: Herneos!
The entrance to Herneos can be found through the help of a brand new quest line regarding the dungeon. This quest line rewards experience as well as various rewards, including inventory slots. However, this is not the only quest line rewarding inventory slots, as some old quests now grant extra inventory slots as well. If you already have the older quests completed, you will be granted the new inventory slots automatically.
Sneak-peek of Herneos
You may recognize this dungeon from previous versions of the game, however it has been graphically enhanced and expanded by more than 3x its original size!
The expanded map region
At the end of the quest line, you will find an instanced boss to defeat. This boss will drop the same drops from the Cursed difficulty bosses, a brand new weapon skin line, and more!
Shop Search
A feature many have been asking for is finally here! We’re adding a feature to search Private Shops for items.
Example of how the Search Shop window will look like
You are able to search for a specific item, or check on items for sale based on various categories. Once you click on a listing, you can reveal the shop’s location on the map, or message the seller directly. Note that when revealing the shop’s location make sure to double check the channel on the listing as well. You will also have 5 daily teleports through the Extended Battle Pass, which you can use to teleport directly to a shop!
Context menu on a shop listing
As a seller, you can use a cash shop item to highlight your item in the shop search window and gain priority when displaying shop search results.
You can set the Shop Advertisement item much like when you set up your Vendor Skin
Please note that the Shop Advertisement item is a one-time use item and will disappear when you close your Private Shop.
Additional Hero Quest
We are expanding the master quest lineup with new hero quests for those hardcore players out there. New rewards await those who dare to complete this arduous task! You will receive a special item which allows you to store your dice and card items called “Card and Dice Bag” which allows you to store up to 10 slots for the first quest, and brand new unique motions for the second one. These motions are Meditation, Flip Jump 1, Lift O, Lift X, Lift Rock, Lift Paper, Lift Scissors, Dance 10, Dance 11 motions. Once you complete the second quest, you will also receive a special costume, the Dark Dragon Set. On top of that, you will also receive special colored badges. The earlier master quests also have new special motion rewards for those who have already completed them. You’ll get Dance 1 and Dance 2 by default, Dance 3 for the Lv 70 Master Quest, Dance 4 for Lv 80 Master Quest, Dance 5 for Lv 90 Master Quest, Dance 6 for Lv 100 Master Quest, Dance 7 for Lv 110 Master Quest, Dance 8 for Lv 120 Master Quest and Dance 9 for the Lv 125 Hero quest.
New rewards await
Blessing of the Goddess
Blessing of the Goddess is now in Flyff Universe, but with new properties and variants. While you can purchase the Blessing of the Goddess item from the Cash Shop to enhance your costumes and cloaks, you can also obtain Blessing of the Demon from in-game drops. Once you use a blessing on an item once, you can use it again for one additional line of stats, giving you a maximum of two lines. You can roll as many times as you wish for the best possible outcome. Note that blessed items will become bound to you until the blessing is removed at the Jewel Manager NPC.

Blessing of the Demon items can be obtained in-game from violet monsters similar to Low SProtects, as well as the new bosses in the Herneos dungeon. This item will have a high chance of giving you a 0 for a certain stat but will have a very low chance of giving you a stat that can be even better than the Blessing of the Goddess counterpart.
Both blessings are interchangeable and you can overwrite either of the items in any direction you wish, but only the Blessing of Goddess item will be removable via the NPC and Blessing of the Demon blessed items can only be removed via the NPC after you use a Blessing of the Goddess item.

Pet Rerolling
With the update, the ability to reroll previous raised pet tiers will be added. This item will be available via the Cash Shop and will allow you to choose one tier which can be rerolled, without the need of a sacrificial pet.
Before and after rerolling the C tier on a fox
By using the scroll, you can input a raised pet into the pet slot in order to choose a tier to reroll. Note that once you select a tier to reroll, that is the only tier you will be able to reroll using this feature going forward on this pet. For example, if you choose to reroll the C tier level on the fox shown above, subsequent uses of the scroll on this fox will only allow you to select the C tier. This does not affect regular rerolling using a sacrificial pet at the Pet Tamer. Rerolling using these scrolls performs a reroll using the same probabilities as if you were sacrificing a pet of the same tier (tier gap of 0).
If you use a High Pet Reroll Scroll, you will have the opportunity to decide whether or not to keep the result. This item will be added at a later date.
Deciding whether or not keep the result
The number of scrolls you need to reroll a tier depends on the tier you select. The cost will vary from E tier to S tier, regardless of which scroll you use.

Miscellaneous Changes
This update will also bring some miscellaneous changes, some of which have been requested in the past.
New Arena World
A new PvP arena is going to be replacing the arena in Saint Morning for a better casual PvP experience as well as a new spot to hang out!
The new Arena world
This new arena features the regular NPCs for upgrading, training dummies, and 9 shiny bronze statues - one for each respective class and the Bronze Vagrant. Perhaps these statues will have some significance in the future.
Gameplay
We have also further improved the monster attack patterns. In a previous patch, monster attacks were made to always show through the ground or other objects, but feedback was received that it may sometimes be deceiving depending on viewing angles. With this update, attack patterns will be properly projected on the ground or any objects in the way, showing an accurate representation of the attack. Note that you’ll need to have the “advanced shaders” setting enabled for this.
Improved attack effects
Other Changes
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where vendor shops ignored the Hide Cloak option.
